The ski resort Altastenberg is located in Sauerland, the Central Uplands of Germany and is well known for its winter sport facilities. Stretching over 10.9 kilometres of forest runs and ski paths, this small and intimate resort is perfect for the more ambitious skiers as they can have endless fun on the 4.1 kilometres of expert slopes, however those who are less confident can experience the 2.7km or 4.1km of more gentle slopes including the Kapellenhang and the Schwedenhang.
‘Out of bed and onto the skis’ is the motto for this outstanding resort. With elevations between 600 and 800 meters and the 30 snow cannons, visitors and residents are guaranteed fantastic snow coverage throughout the season.
Alongside the extensive variety of ski slopes, there is also a huge range of amenities and other activities for people to enjoy. For example, snow hiking, taking a ride on a horse drawn sleigh and snowkiting, which gives skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to cruise through the deep powder. Taxi bobbing is another highly popular attraction, as well as taking advantage of the ice skating rink in Willingen, perfect for skating, curling or even a game of ice hockey.
After a long day indulging in all these activities, guests can choose between fine dining restaurants and rustic huts with table service, along with a selection of high class bars for après-ski.
